"Business for Plovdiv" and its stance on the planned breakthrough at the Central Railway Station in Plovdiv

On October 5, 2018, “Business for Plovdiv” sent to the Minister of Transportation Rossen Zhelyazkov, the Mayor of Plovdiv, Ivan Totev, Plovdiv District Governor, Zdravko Dimitrov, NRIC General Director Krassimir Papukiyski, and the Chairwoman of the Plovdiv Municipal Council, Savina Petkova, our position on the important issue оf the planned breakthrough at the Central Railway Station in Plovdiv:

“We, the members of “Business for Plovdiv”, are very concerned about the current situation in relation to the danger of interruption of the transport link between the South region, the industrial zones in it and the other areas in Plovdiv.

The reason for this is the proposal of the National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC) for the demolition of the so-called “Concrete bridge”, without plans of building a new one, ignoring their own communication prospecting for breaking through the Central Railway Station in Plovdiv from 2011, and the new breakthrough project, again presented by them. We consider such a realization to be inappropriate and detrimental to the economic and social development of the city and its citizens.

“Business for Plovdiv” insists that this important issue for the city should be a subject to expert consideration. We are ready to send our own representatives to help with this issue and find the best solution for Plovdiv and its residents.”
