The Non-profit association „The Business for Plovdiv“ monitors the way in which the resources, allocated for carrying out the project „Plovdiv 2019 – European capital of culture“, are spent.
European capital of culture is one of the most prestigious initiatives in Europe, which goal is to highlight the richness and the cultural diversity in Europe and to foster mutual knowledge and understanding between the European citizens. It could produce benefits for the city, selected as capital of culture – in cultural, economic and social terms.
According to official data the budget of 38 177 638€ includes funding from the State, from the Municipality of Plovdiv, from the European Union and from the private sector. The Non-profit association “The Business for Plovdiv” monitors which projects have been approved – according to Plovdiv’s bid book and the new ones, approved after open calls, launched by the Municipal foundation „Plovdiv 2019“, and their amount. Plovdiv should perform well in 2019 and the projects, part of the program, should likely be sustainable. We focus not only on projects, included in the artistic program, but also on those, corresponding to the cultural and urban infrastructure improvement.
