The Management Board of Association "Business for Plovdiv" discussed important city issues on a second meeting with the Mayor and the deputy Mayor of Plovdiv

On June 27, 2018, the Management Board of the Association “Business for Plovdiv” met for the second time with the Mayor of Plovdiv, Ivan Totev, and the Deputy Mayor, Rosalin Petkov.

The main topics of the discussion were:

  1. Effectiveness and necessity of the train connection “Central Station – Filipovo Station”;
  2. Launching a public transport connection to Plovdiv’s “Ring Road” and permanent removal of the vignettes there;
  3. Improving the taxi services in the city;
  4. Organisation of the traffic in the city and the surrounding areas;

 

The specific proposals of “Business for Plovdiv”, regarding these topics, are as follows:
– the train connection “Central Station – Filipovo Station” is, at this point, unnecessary and the suspension of train services on it will help “unlock” the automobile traffic in the city. If necessary, a public referendum will be organized;
– organizing a meeting with the city’s public transportation carriers in order to discuss our proposal to launch public transport along the “Ring Road” and to have a discussion with the “Road Infrastructure Agency” about the removal of vignettes;
– organizing a meeting with the owners of taxi companies in Plovdiv regarding the improvement of the taxi services in the city;
– construction of a crossroad section at the junction of “6th September” Blvd. and “Vasil Aprilov” and a subsequent re-opening of “Mladejka” street;
– solving the problems surrounding the expropriation procedures of the road “Golyamokonarsko” and the ongoing work on Plovdiv’s “Ring Road”;
Mayor Ivan Totev is committed to acquaint himself with all the proposals of our Association, and to eventually discuss them with the municipal experts.
Association “Business for Plovdiv” will continue to be active in regular meetings with the municipal administration in order to make Plovdiv a better place to live and improve the image of the city in the country and in Europe.
