Public consultation on ambient air quality improvement in Plovdiv, organized by the Non-profit association “The Business for Plovdiv”, took place in “Saedinenie” hall in the Regional museum of history – Plovdiv, on January 31st, 2018. The public consultation attracted a lot of public and media interest. The executive director of the Association Mr. Angel Stoev brought to the attention of the present in the hall a report on the ambient air quality in Plovdiv and a package of measures that the Association proposed to address the issue with the air quality in the town. The public consultation was moderated by the Chairman of the Association Mr. Lyubozar Fratev.
Representatives of institutions, experts, educators from higher education institutions, members of environmental organizations, journalists, citizens, expressed their constructive comments, ideas and proposals during the consultation.
The Non-profit association “The Business for Plovdiv” supplemented the prepared package of measures, on the basis of the suggestions put forward. The measures are fully consistent with the specific characteristics of the town and were submitted on February 8th, 2018, at the registry of the Municipality of Plovdiv, in order to be examined and incorporated in the Program for ambient air quality improvement on the territory of the Municipality of Plovdiv for the period 2018-2023 and in the Action Plan belonging thereto.
